algo SEC fire flow complements existing
change management systems with
intelligent automation to streamline the
security policy change process this is
because fire flow goes beyond workflow
management and understands and analyzes
the firewall rule set the network
topology and your corporate security
policy to ensure changes are required do
not create security or compliance
violations and are implemented in the
most optimal fashion there are different
options for integrating with existing
ticketing systems organizations can
select to create the request and fire
flow and have it automatically
synchronized with the ticketing system
or conversely create a request in the
master system which will subsequently
create a request and fire flow let's
take a look at a real-life scenario in
which I create a new change request and
fire flow which will be automatically
synced with HP service manager I'm going
to use an existing template to request
access for cloud backup services to one
of my servers notice how the fire flow
template already fills in the
destination address and relevant
services so what I'm going to do is fill
in the due date and the source IP
address of the server and create the
ticket when the ticket is created it
contains a link to the corresponding HP
service manager ticket and clicking on
the link takes me to the change request
ticket in service manager you can see
that this change is currently assigned
to the network group and that it is
complete with all the information that I
have filled it in fire flow I can now
use fire flow for intelligent automation
an HP service manager will be updated as
a request progresses the first thing I
want to do is ask fire flow to perform
an initial plan fire flow will check if
the change is actually required and give
me exact details regarding which of my
firewalls are routing the request of
traffic and need to be changed ok I can
see that traffic is indeed blocked and
that there is only one firewall that
needs to be changed to allow it
the next step in this workflow is risk
check fire flow will simulate the change
and proactively inform me if it will
violate my security policy or any
regulations that have to comply with
before I implement it I see that no
risks are associated with this change so
I can go ahead and approve it but before
we do let's switch over to HP service
manager we can see that the stage of the
request has been updated to change
approval and that the risk assessment
value has been updated to no risk I can
now go back to fire flow and approve the
change from a security perspective and
continue with the implementation knowing
that the request is also reflected in my
master change management system this was
a short demonstration of how algo sec
fire flow integrates with existing
change management systems you can find
